There was news that the Congress Party, taking an important political step, has appointed National Secretary Sushil Pasi as the representative of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and MP from Rae Bareli, Rahul Gandhi. A letter related to this also went viral on social media. However, no official has confirmed the authenticity of this news yet.

Rahul Gandhi was till now represented by Kishorilal Sharma, who has become an MP from Amethi. Sushil Pasi is also active in local level politics. He has also contested assembly elections from Bachhrawan twice. His appointment is being seen as a strategy by the Congress to strengthen the Dalit vote bank in Uttar Pradesh. Sushil Pasi is already working as the national secretary of the party and in-charge of Bihar state. Now there is talk of him playing the role of representative of Rahul Gandhi’s parliamentary constituency in Rae Bareli.

Who is Sushil Pasi?

Sushil Pasi is a resident of Rae Bareli district and has been active in the Congress party for a long time. His organizational skills and ability to work at the grassroots level in his political journey got him recognition at the national level. Currently he is working as the National Secretary of Congress and is also handling the responsibility of co-in-charge of the party in Bihar. His appointment is being considered as a part of the strategy to bring forward young and dedicated faces within the party under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi.

If we talk about Sushil Pasi’s political journey, he started his political journey with Bahujan Samaj Party, after this when R. Chaudhary formed BS-4, Sushil Pasi joined BS-4. After that, he broke ties with BS-4 and became a member of Congress and got promotions in Congress from time to time. In his political journey of more than a decade, Sushil Pasi also contested the assembly elections twice from Bachhrawan assembly constituency but he did not get success in it.

Sushil Pasi contested elections five times from Bachhrawan assembly constituency and had to face defeat every time. Rae Bareli Congress District President Pankaj Tiwari has completely rejected this whole news and the fact that Sushil Pasi is Rahul Gandhi’s representative.
