Viswam wants Priyanka to respond on treasurer’s death
T’puram: CPI state secretary Binoy Viswam said on Saturday that Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi should break her silence on the suicide of Wayanad district Congress treasurer NM Vijayan.
Viswam stated that Vijayan died by suicide following betrayal by party colleagues. “This incident has shocked everyone. The Congress’s Wayanad district president and MLA have gone into hiding after being charged with abetment to suicide. The silence of Wayanad MP, Priyanka Gandhi, on the incident is surprising,” he said.
The MP of Wayanad has not yet spoken a word about the allegations against prominent functionaries of the party in her constituency. “Many in the Congress believed that Rahul Gandhi would free the party from the legacy of former telecom minister Sukh Ram, who hid bundles of cash under pillows. The recent events are an eye-opener for them,” Viswam said.
