It is being claimed that the daughter of Valmiki community is to get married. No one is ready to give marriage hall for this. Meanwhile, the police has started investigation related to the truth of the complaint letter going viral.
This complaint letter is viral on X in the name of the Sub-District Magistrate of Sahaswan Tehsil area of ????Badayun district. It has been claimed in the viral letter that Achhan Lal son of Agan Lal is a resident of Mohalla Neechi Ninhor Tehsil Sahaswan and he is a Valmiki from Scheduled Caste. Achhan Lal’s daughter’s marriage procession will come to Sahaswan on 4 February 2025. He needs a marriage hall to conduct the marriage ceremony.
Achhan Lal contacted many owners of Sahaswan to book a marriage hall for his daughter’s wedding. However, he was refused marriage hall after asking his caste. According to Achhan Lal’s complaint letter, when people of other castes were contacted for booking on the same date, permission was granted for booking in the said marriage hall.
Achhan Lal, speaking of casteist mentality in the 21st century, demanded an inquiry from SDM Sahaswan into the said matter. He has requested to get a baraat house to conduct his daughter’s marriage ceremony.
Complained to CM Yogi
The Sahaswan police of the district says that the matter is being investigated. Necessary legal action will be taken after the investigation. The mobile number given in the viral complaint letter of the victim Achhan Lal was contacted. The call was picked up by his son Arun Kumar. He said that his sister’s marriage is scheduled for February 4. Wherever he went to book a marriage hall, they refused after asking his caste. He has complained about the matter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, SDM Sahaswan and the police.
