UP Crime: Gang rape of Dalit girl in Ballia, one accused arrested; Search for another continues
The accused have been identified as Salik Singh (20) and Deepak Yadav (22), both the accused are residents of the same village as the victim. Based on the complaint lodged by the girl’s father, an FIR was registered against the two on Thursday under sections of the IPC, POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) and SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

The accused are from the victim’s village, one arrested, search for one continues
PTI, Ballia. A 22-year-old man has been arrested for the alleged gang rape of a 17-year-old Dalit girl. Police said that efforts are on to arrest other accused in the case.
According to PTI news, the police had said on Thursday that on October 2, two people had allegedly raped a Dalit girl in a village in the Bairiya police station area here.

Police station in-charge Dharamveer Singh said that the accused have been identified as Salik Singh (20) and Deepak Yadav (22), both the accused are residents of the same village as the victim. Based on the complaint lodged by the girl’s father, an FIR was registered against the two on Thursday under sections of the IPC, POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses) and SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
Additional Superintendent of Police Durga Prasad Tiwari said that Deepak Yadav was arrested on Friday and sent to jail on Saturday. ASP said, Salik Singh is missing and efforts are on to arrest him.
