Trust seeks action against cop
Vadodara: The Lakshya Trust has written to city police commissioner Narasimha Komar and sought action against the police sub-inspector (PSI) who allegedly slapped a transgender person on Tuesday. The trust pointed out in the letter that while ‘Pride Month’ is being celebrated in the city, a policeman had misbehaved with a transgender. The incident occurred at Atladara police station on Tuesday when the transgender person was called there regarding his application against a builder over a dispute regarding purchase of a house. The builder too was present there and PSI B G Bharwad was trying to settle the dispute. However, arguments broke out during the meeting and the transgender person called some activists from the Lakshya Trust who reached the police station.
The activists alleged that the cops told them that they would be issued a challan as they three of them travelled on one two-wheeler.
One member of the transgender community also alleged that Bharwad slapped one of them.
