Transgender person threatens to jump from tree
Kochi: A transgender person, Anna Raju of Aluva, climbed a tree near Aluva police station around 4.30am and threatened to jump down on Wednesday during a protest held by around 30 persons from the community.
They claimed the police did not take action against guest workers, who allegedly attacked them a few days ago. She later came down by around 8.30am after the police assured to take action against the culprits. Cases were slapped on 30 transgender persons. The police said the protesters hurled abusive words at them and caused traffic blocks. tnn
