TN Congress to mark Rajiv’s 80th birth anniversary in grand fashion
Chennai: Tamil Nadu Congress president K Selvaperunthagai on Sunday directed the party cadres to celebrate the 80th birth anniversary of late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on August 20 in a grand manner. Selvaperunthagai said the decorated photo of Rajiv Gandhi should be carried in open vehicles and cadres and party functionaries must distribute pamphlets highlighting the Gandhi’s achievements to the public in every district headquarters, towns, town and village panchayats.
Speaking about Rajiv Gandhi’s love for Tamil Nadu, Selvaperunthagai said Gandhi undertook 13 whirlwind tours in the state and met people to redress their grievances in 1988. TNN
