Among Dalits there is also a caste called Dalit – Musahar. Their economic, social and educational condition is so bad that hardly anyone from the Musahar community will be found whose life is better. Till date, apart from a handful of food grains, very little has reached the large population of this poverty-stricken society in the name of government assistance. Despite the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Mukhyamantri Nal-Jal Yojana and many such government schemes, till date they have neither got a solid roof over their heads nor a tap at their door.
Dalit Dastak reporter Guddu Kashyap investigated the ground reality of a Musahar colony in Nagara block of Saran district of Bihar. And the results that have come out were shocking.
