“There is no Dalit in Hinduism, everyone should have the right to become a priest”, Bageshwar Baba calls on Acharyas
National Desk: Dhirendra Shastri, popularly known as Bageshwar Baba, recently made an important statement, in which he advocated giving place to Dalits and tribal community people as priests in Hindu temples. He says that this step is very important to promote social harmony and realize the unity of religion.
Appeal to make Dalits and tribals priests
Bageshwar Baba has called upon all Shankaracharyas and Acharyas to start a system of making Dalits and lower castes priests in temples. He believes that in Hinduism, no caste or class of people is left behind, and if all the people in the country are Hindus, then everyone should get the right to become a priest.
Everyone has equal rights in Hindu religion
Dhirendra Shastri said, “We are not saying who should become a priest, rather we are saying that in this country there are neither Dalits, nor backward, nor left out people. Everyone can become a priest. When we are considering Hindu religion equal for everyone, then who is left Dalit, who is left backward?” He believes that if everyone is Hindu, then everyone should get the right to become a priest in temples.
Need for harmony in society
Bageshwar Baba said that he prays to Shankaracharya and Acharyas to consider this system and take steps towards implementing it. His aim is to promote equality and harmony in society. He wants that a person belonging to any caste, class, or religion should get the right to worship in temples, so that discrimination in society can end.
Step towards unity of religion
Bageshwar Baba also reiterated that when everyone is Hindu, then there should not be any kind of discrimination in temples. This step is not only important from the religious point of view, but it will also promote equality and brotherhood in the society.
This statement of Dhirendra Shastri points towards a new direction in the society. He has talked about giving equal rights to people of all castes and classes in Hinduism, and has given the message that there should not be any kind of discrimination while following the path of religion.
