Telangana: ‘130 crore flood damage in Bhadradri’
HYDERABAD: The estimated loss due to the floods in Bhadradri Kothagudem district has been pegged at 129 crore by the district administration. Details of the loss were given on Friday to the visiting central team. As many as 79 villages and 15,465 people were affected.
District collector Anudeep Durishetty said it was the first time since 1986 that the Godavari levels went up to a record of 71.30ft on July 16. A central team comprising finance ministry deputy secretary Parthibhan; director of Directorate of Oilseeds Development, ministry of agriculture and farmers welfare, K Manoharan; CWC director Ramesh Kumar and ministry of road transport official Shiv Kumar Kushvaha visited the district. In all 5,047 farmers were hit. For relief of 5,400 per acre, relief amount needed would be 5.84 crore.
