A 13-year-old girl belonging to the Dalit community was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by two youths from her neighbourhood in Lucknow, police said on Tuesday.
The two accused, aged 20 and 16, have been taken into custody, the officials said. The alleged incident occurred when the victim was returning home from school, it is learnt. The medical examination of the girl, a class 5 student, is being conducted. The police said that they will record the girl’s statement before a magistrate.
According to the police, the victim’s father lodged a first information report (FIR) against the two youngsters, alleging that the duo dragged the girl into a car before sexually assaulting her when she was returning home on Monday afternoon.
The two later dropped his daughter near their house and fled, the complainant alleged.
