SP: Assault victim is not a transgender, but a woman
Vijayapura: The incident in which a transgender being assaulted by other transgenders at Old Bus Stand here on July 21 has taken a turn with a police case filed by the victim herself, on Friday. Superintendent of police Rishikesh Sonawane told reporters that the victim is a woman, not a transgender, as reported by a section of the media. “The 21-year-old woman hails from a village near Vijayapura and had stayed with the accused transgenders in Pune for a while in the past. As they developed some differences, they assaulted her.
