Rampur News: Dalit woman raped after conversion
Saifni (Rampur). Police have registered a case against eight people including the main accused for converting a Dalit woman and raping her. In the same case, police have arrested three people including the main accused and sent them to jail.
The victim woman, a resident of a village in Patwai police station area, has registered a case in the police station on Monday. It is alleged that she was having a dispute with her husband for the last two years. Due to which she used to visit Rampur court. During this time, she met Jamshed Alam, a resident of Laxman Nagla of Tanda police station of Rampur.
It is alleged that Jamshed Alam, who told himself to be a Hindu and told his name as Vivek, trapped the victim woman in his love trap and raped her for a year by giving false promises of marriage. When the victim objected to this, he came to her house and started living there. On being pressurized by the victim, the said accused went to Saifni temple and married her according to Hindu customs.
A few days after the marriage, the victim came to know that he was already married and was a Muslim. After this, when the victim opposed this, he put a condition to the victim to divorce the first wife if she adopts Muslim religion. After this, the accused, with the help of his family members, forcibly converted the victim to Islam at the house of Qazi Shaukat Ali Khan and married the victim on 20 June 2024.
The victim filed a complaint in the police station and requested to register a report, after which the police, on the basis of the complaint of the victim, have registered a case against Jamshed Alam alias Vivek, mother Sabroon, father Bhura, sister Sofia, brother Iqbal, Maqsood, Qazi Shaukat Ali Khan, brother-in-law Mohammad Shakir under the relevant sections. In the case, the police station has arrested the accused Jamshed alias Vivek, Maqsood and Mohammad Shakir and challaned them.
