New Delhi: While the results of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections brought a ray of hope for the opposition alliance, it was no less than a setback for the NDA. The alliance led by PM Modi was hoping to cross 400 seats but the results were opposite to that. The government was formed at the center but these numbers are not satisfying PM Modi from within for the third term. Meanwhile, a survey has come out. This survey named Mood of the Nation states that if the Lok Sabha elections are held again today, the fate of NDA will not change much but Congress can possibly cross the 100 seat mark. That is, it is clear from this that Rahul’s popularity is increasing even after the election results. The matter of relief for BJP and NDA is that there has been no decrease in PM Modi’s popularity.
How many seats will NDA get if elections are held today
With the Modi 3.0 government entering its third month, the survey shows that if the Lok Sabha elections are held today, the seats of the BJP-led NDA will increase from 293 to 299, that is, the alliance will gain only 6 seats. According to the survey, the opposition India Today group will largely retain its numbers, losing one seat from 234 to 233.
Gap between Modi and Rahul reduced
India Today’s Mood of the Nation survey has revealed that the rating gap between Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi has reduced. According to the results of the survey on who among the two is best suited to become the next Prime Minister, 49 percent of the people chose Narendra Modi as the next leader. On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi was chosen by 22.4 percent of the people. This time a six-point drop was seen for PM Modi as compared to the February 2024 edition of Mood of the Nation and an eight-point increase has been seen for Rahul Gandhi in the same period.
Let us tell you that the August 2024 edition of India Today’s Mood of the Nation, a biennial pan-India survey, was conducted by CVoter between July 15, 2024 and August 10, 2024. In this year’s Lok Sabha elections, the NDA won 293 seats in the 543-member Lok Sabha, while the opposition won 234 seats, defying exit polls and predictions. The Congress increased its tally from 52 to 100 in the 2024 elections.
Vote share also decreased
The new Mood of the Nation survey shows that if the general elections were held today, the BJP would have got four seats (244) more than in June with a marginal increase in its vote share. While the party’s vote share in the elections has decreased from 37.7 percent to 36.56 percent. The Mood of the Nation survey has given the BJP a 38 percent share. According to the survey, the NDA is likely to get 43.7 percent votes. The survey showed that if the elections were held today, the party’s vote share would also increase to 25.4 percent. In the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress got 21.20 percent votes, which was more than the 19.46 percent received in 2019.
