Rahul to attend Nov 5 caste survey meet in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Rahul Gandhi will attend a meeting organised by TPCC in connection with the state-wide caste survey at Gandhi Ideology Centre in Bowenpally on Nov 5, a day ahead of the launch of the door-to-door caste survey in Telangana.
TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud said on Saturday that AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge has also been invited and is most likely to attend along with Rahul. “It was Rahul Gandhi who announced that caste census would be done in the country, including Telangana, if Congress is voted to power,” he said.
Stating that suggestions, opinions and objections would be taken at the Nov 5 meeting on how to improve the survey, Goud said the presence of Rahul will be a testimony to the fact that Congress is committed to fulfilling all its promises.
Goud also said the Congress govt is in favour of distribution of the state’s wealth as per the ratio of the population in tune with Rahul’s slogan of ‘jitne hissedari, utni bhagedari’ and that it will also ensure that the wealth reaches the deprived, ignored, and deserving sections.
He said all-party meeting will be to take suggestions on the caste survey.
He brushed aside BJP floor leader Alleti Maheshwar Reddy’s comments that a new CM will replace Revanth after June 2025. “Revanth Reddy will complete his full term as CM. It is better for Maheshwar Reddy to realise his position and respect in BJP as there is talk of a rift between him and Union minister G Kishan Reddy,” he said.
