Rahul must replace hand symbol with bulldozer: Harish
Hyderabad: Former health and finance minister T Harish Rao, suggested that Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, replace the Congress party’s hand symbol with a bulldozer as the state govt has become like a bulldozer for Telangana’s poor. He demanded that the Congress govt immediately come to the rescue of affected families and halt the Musi River Development project.
BRS MLAs, led by Harish Rao, visited the areas around Musi on Sunday. They spoke with families there and listened to their concerns, promising them that the BRS would support them in their fight.
Speaking to the people, Harish said, “Congress govt is displacing thousands of poor families in the name of development. The state government has misdirected its priorities and jeopardised poor people’s lives in order to create room for corporate corporations. The Congress government is talking about 1.5 lakh crore for this project despite lacking funds for electoral promises. Govt demolished residences to give land to corporations.”
He said, “the govt should support the people, not oppose them. Instead of improving their lives, the Congress govt is harming them by such rash acts. Thousands are becoming homeless, and victims are being terrorised.”
Rao promised BRS party assistance and offered accommodation at Telangana Bhavan to anyone who was displaced. “We keep our doors open all day and night. Call us, and I’ll be there in half an hour. If bulldozers arrive, they will have to pass over us first,” he said. BRS legislators visited the impacted areas of Hydershahkote, Sun City, Langer Houz, and nearby areas to hear people’s issues.
