During his stay, he will engage in various interactions in Washington DC and Dallas, including a visit to the University of Texas, as shared by Sam Pitroda, the Chairman of Indian Overseas Congress, in a video statement on Saturday.

Pitroda mentioned that since Rahul Gandhi assumed the role of the Leader of the Opposition, he has been inundated with requests from the Indian diaspora, diplomats, academicians, businessmen, leaders, international media, and others for interactions with the Congress leader. The Indian Overseas Congress, which has a presence in 32 countries, has been actively facilitating these requests.

On September 8, Rahul Gandhi will be in Dallas, where he will interact with students and academicians at the University of Texas, as well as engage with the local community. The visit will also include a large community gathering, meetings with technocrats, and a dinner with leaders from the Dallas area.

Subsequently, Rahul Gandhi will travel to Washington DC on September 9 and 10, where similar interactions are planned with various individuals and groups, including think tanks and the National Press Club. Pitroda emphasised that there is significant interest in the states governed by the Congress party, and they anticipate a highly successful visit.

In the recent Lok Sabha election, Rahul Gandhi emerged victorious in two constituencies, Rae Bareli and Wayanad. However, he resigned from the Wayanad seat in Kerala, which is likely to be contested by his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in a bypoll. In June, the Congress Working Committee passed a resolution appointing Rahul Gandhi as the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.

“Since Rahul Gandhi has become the leader of the opposition, I as chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress, with a presence in 32 countries have been bombarded with requests from Indian diaspora diplomats, academicians, businessmen, leaders, international media and many others for interactions with Rahul Gandhi,” Pitroda said in a video statement.
