Question on Dalit Sadhus becoming Mahamandaleshwar: All India Priests Federation in Ujjain said – This will reduce the respect of Sadhus.
After the matter of Akhara Parishad appointing 100 Dalit Sadhus as Mahamandaleshwar came to light, the priests of Mahakal Temple and All India Priests Federation have taken objection. Alleged that a saint has no caste or varna, everyone is equal for him. Why SCST and Dalit among Sadhus? If casteism starts in the name of Dalit, then the respect and honor of saints in the country will reduce or end.
All India Priests Federation has written a letter to the Akhara Parishad, a copy of which has also been asked to be sent to the PM and CM. Mahasangh President Mahesh Pujari and Secretary Rupesh Mehta said that it was learned through media that Akhara Parishad will make 100 Dalit Sadhus Mahamandaleshwar. I felt happy, but there was also worry and sadness in my mind because if casteism starts in the name of Dalit among the saints too, then the respect and honor of the saints in the country will reduce or end.
Mahesh Pujari told that when a person of any class becomes a saint, he sacrifices himself. It does not have its own existence. He has no caste or varna. For him everyone is equal, then why Dalits among the saints? Akhara Parishad President Ravindra Puri said that it is necessary to connect this class with the main stream of the society.
He also said that if Dalits will make Mahamandaleshwar, then also clarify whether Dalit will be written in front of the name of the newly appointed Mahamandaleshwar, because you have given a statement in the press with political mathematics, percentage and analysis. Are there no people of this category in your Akharas? You should find out this and present the caste-based list of all the Mahamandaleshwars of the Akharas before the Hindu society. For separate identification of all the people who belong to Mahamandaleshwar, write in the surname in front of their name whether they are Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya or Dalit.
Rupesh Mehta told that at present our saint of Ujjain has been nominated as Rajya Sabha member by the Government of India. He comes from Valmiki community. It has also been revealed that Mahamandaleshwar of Chardham comes from the Prajapat (potter) community and there are many other such saints who come from all the communities. There is already harmony in your saint community, so why sow new seeds of casteism today?
This is fatal for Sanatan Dharma culture. Another question is requested to you that after the appointment of 100 Mahamandaleshwars, if they demand the post of Akhara Parishad President from you, will you give up your post of President for the sake of social harmony and equality. The day political interference in Sanatan Dharma will stop, the flag of Sanatan Dharma will wave in the world. All India Priests Federation requests that Dalits should not be insulted by classifying them among saints.
