Pune: State-Level Conference Organized Upon ‘Participation of Transgenders in Democracy’
Pune, 13th December 2022: A two-day state-level conference on ‘Participation of transgenders in democracy’ has been organized on 14th and 15th September at Sant Namdev Auditorium of Vidyapith in association with the Chief Electoral Officer of Maharashtra State and Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). The state-level conference will be inaugurated by MP Supriya Sule.
The conference will be concluded in the presence of higher and technical education minister Chandrakant Patil.
Public representatives, officials of various government departments, representatives of social organizations working for the cause of third parties, etc. will be present at the conference. In this conference, the meaning and difference of ‘LGBTIQ’, interaction with transgenders who have succeeded in business, education, and employment. Jamir Kamble and the team will present poems by transgender poetess Disha Pinki Shaikh.
The conference will discuss the unique identity of transgenders, their acceptance, and rejection by their parents, their health, employment, education, shelter, tracking of these problems, the need to make policy provisions to solve these problems, etc. Chief Electoral Officer Shrikant Deshpande and SPPU Registrar Prafulla Pawar urged people to attend the conference in a big way to understand the issues of the third parties.
