Davangere. August 29: Karnataka Dalit Sangharsa Samithi District Coordinator Kundawada Manjunath said that a huge protest satyagraha was held in front of the District Collector’s office on August 30 demanding that the Veerashaiva Lingayat Jangamars not be given Scheduled Caste certificates.

He complained that Veerashaiva Lingayat Jangamars are stealing our food by taking away the reservation of Scheduled Castes by claiming that the oppressed community is not Jangamaru. Especially MP Renukacharya, Vageesh Swamy is trying to take away the reservation of Scheduled Castes even though they belong to the upper caste category. Because a case of caste abuse should be registered against him under Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe Atrocities Act. He also demanded that he should be exiled from the state.
The protest will be launched by garlanding the effigy of Ambedkar at Ambedkar Circle. Later, a massive protest march will be held from Sangolli Rayanna Circle on Warthula Road to the District Collector’s Office and a Dharani Satyagraha will be held. Due to the large number of Scheduled Castes participating in the notification, they called to raise voice against the incumbents.
In the notification issued in accordance with Article 341 and 342 of the Constitution of India, 101 Scheduled Castes and 50 Scheduled Castes have been identified in the list of Scheduled Tribes in Karnataka State. . But Veerashaiva Lingayat Jangamaru is not in the list. However, he alleged that reservation is being made in the name of Scheduled Castes. Anaji Hanumanthappa Vijayalakshmi, Halavarthy Mahantesh, Gummanur Hanumanthappa, Lingaraj, Pradeep, Beturu Hanumanthappa and others were present at the press conference.
