PRI demands Dalit CM in Telangana
Hyderabad: Congratulating the Congress and TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy for winning the Assembly elections, the Republican party of India (A) on Sunday demanded they nominate a legislator from the Dalit community as Chief Minister.
In a statement, RPI Telangana state chief P. Siva Nageswar Goud said that BRS president and former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had promised to make Dalit leader the CM if Telangana state was formed but failed to keep his promise. Keeping in mind the seriousness of the issues facing the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (STs) communities, the Congress must consider making a Dalit MLA the Chief Minister, he said.
