PK urges Rahul & Tejashwi to join BPSC aspirants’ stir
Patna/Motihari: Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor, who has been on an indefinite fast for the past four days before the Mahatma Gandhi statue at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan, demanding the cancellation of BPSC exam, on Sunday appealed to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD’s Tejashwi Prasad Yadav to join the students’ protest.
“I would like to clarify that this agitation is a non-political one and launched against bad governance in the state. If they (Rahul and Tejashwi) decide to lead, I will withdraw and support the movement from behind,” Kishor told reporters. He also urged the general public to step out of their “comfort zones” and back the students’ cause. “This is not the time to watch silently, comfortably sitting behind quilts and blankets. We are not just sitting in Gandhi Maidan, we are walking the path of satyagraha for the future of Bihar. We invite you to join us and support this movement,” Kishor said.
The youths at the protest formed a 51-member forum, named the ‘Yuva Satyagraha Samiti’ (YSS), to lead the movement, with Kishor being part of it.
Meanwhile, Tejashwi charged Kishor with politicising and weakening the students’ protest. “We raised the issue of normalisation of marks for BPSC exam in the state assembly on November 28 itself but never wanted anyone hijacking their movement,” Tejashwi said during his yatra in East Champaran on Sunday.
Tejashwi also questioned Kishor’s presence near the protest site, pointing to the lavish vanity van located there. “So far, we have known about actors availing such facilities during film shoots. But who is the director of this film, you people have good knowledge. There is no need to tell. Everything has got exposed now,” he said.
