Notices to Karauli DC and SP over Dalit’s plea
Jaipur: A special court dealing with SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act cases has issued notices to Karauli collector, superintendent of police and others in a contempt petition filed by a Dalit family.
The family has alleged that despite court orders, the police and administration have not taken any action against the accused. In 2019, one Lakhi Bairwa, through Istegasa (legal complaint in the court), filed an FIR at Sapotara police station in Karauli. Satish Kumar, counsel for Bairwa, said, “The petitioner alleged that with the intention of grabbing land, accused Atarsingh Gurjar, Badan Gurjar, Narsi Gurjar, Siya, all sons of one Jiyalal Gurjar, and others, residents of Gairhai ki Guwadi village under police station Sapotra, repeatedly beat and attacked the accused, took away the crop many times.” tnn
