JE News Desk: A Dalit man in Ali Vardipur village, located in the Ecotech 3 Police Station area, was brutally attacked by three individuals from his neighbourhood after he objected to being addressed with a caste-specific word. The Dalit man’s daughter was also assaulted and threatened, with the perpetrators allegedly warning that they would kidnap her from their home.
The victim reported the matter to the police following the incident on June 13. However, no immediate action was taken by the authorities. It was only after the Commissioner of Police’s intervention that the police station finally registered a report regarding the incident.
Veer Kumar, the injured Dalit man, has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. In his report, he mentioned that his neighbours Manohar Singh, Arvind, and Ritesh hold a grudge against him and have repeatedly addressed him using caste-related terms. When he confronted them about this, they allegedly attacked Veer Kumar with sharp weapons.
Upon reaching Kulesara Police Station after the assault, the victim’s plea to report the incident was ignored. He eventually sought medical attention, but his report was not registered even after presenting the medical report. The victim believes that the police station was influenced by the accused party and deliberately neglected to file his complaint.
