No room for religious bias in T, will ensure harmony: CM
Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday sought to assure all sections and faiths of people that they can follow their respective religions and faiths without any fear in Telangana, saying that the Congress govt respects all religions.
Revanth was addressing a huge gathering at LB Stadium as part of a Calvary Temple-organised thanksgiving programme.
Referring to some sporadic incidents recently, the CM said the Congress govt will ensure that law and order is maintained and religious harmony prevails at all times in the state. Revanth said Indian culture (sanskruthi) is not so weak that people who have been following a religion for generations will quit it to embrace another religion just for the sake of free food, medicines, blankets or other benefits. “Unless one believes totally in something, conversion is difficult,” he said.
“There is no room for religious discrimination in the state. The govt will take measures to prevent communal riots. The survival of democracy in the country is at risk. Rahul Gandhi organised Bharat Jodo Yatra to save democracy. The time has come to make Rahul Gandhi prime minister,” he said.
“As the Chief Minister, I am doing my best. But God’s blessings are also needed to totally eradicate the menace from Telangana,” CM Revanth said.
He also praised the work being done by Christian missionaries in providing education and medical facilities at affordable rates to the poor at a time when education and health have become a huge business for some.
CM Revanth called upon Calvary Temple to ensure that its preachings have a message to the youth and to all sections of society to stay away from the evils of drugs and ganja.
