A case of assault and gang rape of a Dalit woman has come to light in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh. The victim woman has accused the village bullies of occupying her land. The woman says that when the bullies did not succeed in capturing her land despite repeated attempts, they took her hostage on Thursday, beat her up, took her to the forest and raped her one by one.
On the complaint of the woman, the Superintendent of Police has instructed the Kolaras police station to take legal action in the matter. Police say that after investigating the matter, strict action will be taken against the culprits.
What is the whole matter
This case pertains to village Baidari of Kolaras police station area of Shivpuri district. According to the victim, she has about 20 bighas of land in the forest in village Baidari. For many years his family has been earning a living by farming on that land. The victim woman says that Jagdish Yadav, son of Hinnu Yadav and Kartar Singh Gurjar of the village have been trying to capture her for a long time.
There was no hearing on the complaint in the police station
The victim woman says that she lodged a complaint about the whole matter with SDM, Collector, SP everywhere but no hearing took place. The SDM had also reassured her but on Thursday the bullies molested her. According to the victim, the bullies used caste based abuses and dragged her and beat her.
SP ordered action
According to the victim, the bullies also pressured her to withdraw her complaint. When she reached Kolaras police station and did not get any hearing, she also came to the Collector and SP on Friday but could not find anyone. He spent the whole night in the Collectorate. On Saturday again he lodged a complaint with the SP.
According to the information, there is already a land dispute going on between the woman and the accused. She has already lodged an FIR against the accused. Kolaras TI Jitendra Maravi says that the matter is being investigated on the orders of the SP.
