Minor Dalit girl kidnapped, gangraped in Jharkhand
A 16-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly kidnapped from her home and raped by six men in Jharkhand’s Hussainabad. The accused had also recorded a video of the act and threatened the victim to make it viral.
The incident happened under the jurisdiction of Hussainabad police station in Palamu. Late on Thursday night, the minor girl was alone at her home as her parents had gone out to attend a wedding ceremony. Six men from the same village forcibly entered her house and abducted her.
After abducting her, the accused took her outside the village and gangraped her.
It was on Friday when her parents returned from the wedding that she narrated her ordeal to them, who then informed the villagers and the police about the matter.
Villagers managed to catch one of the accused and handed him over to the police, while the other five escaped from the village. All the accused involved in the gang rape reside in the vicinity of the victim’s house.
Jagnnath Dhan, in-charge of Hussainabad police station, said, “Raids are being conducted to arrest the remaining accused. Police will file a complaint against the accused under charges, including the POCSO Act. The victim has been sent to the hospital for medical examination.”
