Mayawati slams Cong for ‘empty promises’
Daltonganj: BSP supremo Mayawati, while addressing the voters of Hussainabad on behalf of party candidate Sheopujan Mehta on Sunday, criticised Congress for its unfulfilled promises.
Targetting Congress’s governance in Himachal Pradesh, Mayawati said, “What is the use of giving guarantees when Congress does not have the wherewithal?”, adding that the party’s intentions were not transparent.
Moving on to tribal and Dalit issues, the BSP leader cited the poverty among these communities in Jharkhand while claiming that little has changed since the state’s separation from Bihar. She attributed the limited progress of adivasis and Dalits to “political narrowism and gross capitalism”.
Referring to her tenure as the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, she spoke about the development initiatives undertaken for tribal communities in matters of employment generation, infrastructure development, and educational facilities in Sonebhadra.
Urging voters to trust BSP for realdevelopment, she quipped, “Others copy BSP’s model.”
