Mass murder of Dalit family in Amethi, UP, serious questions raised on police
Amethi. A person from Dalit community has been shot dead along with his family in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh. The deceased include a young man, his wife and two daughters. The brutal murder of four members of the same family has created a stir in the entire state. Serious questions are being raised on UP Police in this case. It is reported that Sunil’s wife Poonam Bharti had complained to the police on August 18 about molestation and death threats in Rae Bareli, but the police did not take it seriously.
After the incident came to light, BSP supremo Ms Mayawati along with Chandrashekhar Azad, Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi have strongly cornered the UP government. The head of the murdered family, Sunil Kumar, was a government teacher. Along with Sunil, his wife Poonam Bharti and their two innocent daughters Drishti (5) and Mickey (2) were also not spared by the monsters.
BSP chief Mayawati has cornered the UP government, calling the incident extremely sad and worrying. Behenji said that the government should take strict action against the culprits and the policemen there. On the other hand, Azad Samaj Party President Chandrashekhar Azad also surrounded UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and said that the Amethi incident shows that there is no rule of law in Uttar Pradesh, but jungle raj. This incident is the real picture of the law and order of Uttar Pradesh, what is the truth and what is propaganda. The truth is that there is no guarantee of the life of Dalits in Uttar Pradesh, no one knows whose turn will come tomorrow, and the propaganda is that the law and order is very good.
Nagina MP Chandrashekhar Azad said that if the police-administration had taken action on Poonam Bharti’s complaint of molestation and death threats one and a half months ago, then four lives would not have been lost today. Chandrashekhar Azad has demanded CM Yogi to take the matter seriously and arrest all the accused within 48 hours and take strict action and also take strict action against insensitive policemen. If this does not happen, he has threatened to go to Amethi and sit on a dharna at the Amethi District Magistrate’s office to get justice for the victim’s family. The kind of news coming in this case shows the failure and negligence of UP police. It is clear that the news of four people of a Dalit family being murdered inside their house in Amethi, UP is a blot on the police department. When the woman of the house complained of molestation and death threats on August 18, why did the police not take the matter seriously? Was it because this family belonged to the Dalit community? There are many such questions, which the police department will have to answer.
