Manipur’s incident is shameful, my heart is filled with pain and anger – PM Modi
Manipur has been in the grip of violence for the last two months.
A statement has come from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Manipur violence. Talking to the media on the first day of the monsoon session, PM Modi spoke about the brutality with which women were treated in Manipur.
PM Modi said, “What has happened in Manipur is very shameful. It is like putting the whole country to shame. The incident in Manipur is shameful, my heart is filled with pain and anger.”
What is the whole matter?
In fact, Manipur has been in the grip of violence for the last two months, meanwhile a video of two women from the Kuki community being stripped naked and paraded on the road by a mob has gone viral on social media, causing anger across the country. From the opposition to the common people, people were raising their voice against PM Modi to speak and take action on the Manipur violence and this brutality with women. After which now PM Modi’s statement has come on Manipur.
PM Modi further said,
How many are the sinners, who commit the crime, who are they… They are in their place. But the whole country is being insulted, 140 crore countrymen are being put to shame. I want to tell all the Chief Ministers that they should further strengthen the law and order in their states. Take the harshest steps especially for the safety of our mother and daughter.
PM Modi further said, “Whether the incident is of Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh or Manipur, in any corner of India, in any state government in this country, there should be importance of law and order and women’s respect by rising above politics.”
“The culprits of what happened to the daughters of Manipur will not be spared at all”
At the end of his statement, PM Modi said, “I want to assure the countrymen that no culprit will be spared. The law will take one step after the other with all its might. What has happened to the daughters in Manipur will never be forgiven.” can not be done.
