Bareilly: Police have booked a couple and have arrested the husband for the alleged murder of a 22-year-old Dalit woman in UP’s Bareilly on Tuesday. The accused, Pawan Gupta alias Monu, told police that he had known the woman for past five years and was in a relationship with her even though he was married. She started blackmailing him for money so he decided to kill her.
Nawabganj CO Harsh Modi said, “We have arrested the main accused Monu and he confessed to the crime. We have also charged Monu’s wife with murder as she was with him at the time of the crime. We booked them under sections of murder, abduction, and SC/ST Act. Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
