Madhya Pradesh: Tribal Youth Brutally Assaulted, Stripped Naked, Hung Upside Down, Video Goes Viral
Tribal Youths in Betul Face Ongoing Brutality, Another Shocking Assault Comes to Light

Bhopal- Just two days ago, a deeply troubling video surfaced from Betul depicting the brutal assault of a tribal youth by a member of the Bajrang Dal. Now, another alarming incident has come to light, further underscoring the precarious situation faced by tribal youths in the region. In this latest case, the victim was subjected to a vicious attack, stripped naked, and hung upside down from the ceiling before enduring relentless beatings with belts and sticks. A video clip of the incident went viral on social media on Tuesday.
Following the viral circulation of the video depicting the harrowing assault, the victim, accompanied by his brother, approached the police station to file a formal complaint against the accused.
Detailing the traumatic events to law enforcement, the victim, a resident of a nearby village in Betul, recounted how he operates a snack shop. On November 16, 2023, his acquaintance Rinkesh Chauhan had invited him to Betul, where they proceeded to the residence of Chent alias Shohrab. Upon their arrival, they found themselves confronted by a group of 6 to 7 individuals already present in the house. Threats quickly escalated into violence as the victim was forcibly stripped of his clothing and suspended from the ceiling. Enduring a prolonged and vicious assault with belts and sticks, he suffered in silence, paralyzed by fear.
Betul Police have registered a case under the SC-ST Atrocity Act against the accused persons, including Rinkesh Chauhan, Chent alias Shohrab, and others involved in the assaults. While one arrest has been made, efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining perpetrators.
Speaking with The Mooknayak, Betul Superintendent of Police Siddharth Chaudhary confirmed that the video in question was approximately three months old but had only recently been circulated by the perpetrators. Despite the victim’s initial reluctance to report the crime due to fear and shame, prompt action was taken by law enforcement upon receiving his complaint.
Sadly, these incidents are not isolated occurrences. Just days prior, a video surfaced depicting the brutal beating of a tribal youth in Betul district. The victim, identified as Raj Uike, was subjected to vicious assault allegedly stemming from a previous dispute between the DJ he worked for and the accused, Chanchal Rajput, a Bajrang Dal coordinator.
The gravity of these incidents underscores a broader issue of violence against tribal communities in Madhya Pradesh. According to National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data, the state has consistently topped the charts for tribal atrocities in recent years. In 2022 alone, 2979 cases were reported, marking a 13 percent increase from the previous year.
