Madhya Pradesh: Dalit youth beaten naked in Chhatarpur, police took out a procession of the accused
The viral video shows four youths holding a youth and beating him. Then they remove his clothes at gunpoint. The accused are also seen burning him with cigarettes.

Bhopal. In the Bundelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh, incidents of Dalits being beaten up due to caste inferiority complex keep coming to the fore. The latest case has come to light from Chhatarpur district of the state. Where a Dalit youth was held hostage and brutally beaten up. The incident is said to have taken place on June 21. At night, when the Dalit youth was closing his restaurant and walking home, 3 to 4 miscreants kidnapped him on gunpoint and took him away from the city and beat him brutally for about an hour, leaving him bleeding. The accused made a video of the assault and made it viral.
All the accused beat the youth with belts one by one, and beat him brutally, threatening to complain to the police. Meanwhile, one of the accused stripped the youth half naked and beat him with belt and kicks and punches. All the accused were holding illegal weapons in their hands and were attacking the youth with the butt of the gun. Due to which he suffered a deep injury on his head and was covered in blood.
After beating the youth severely, the accused left him and went away. The victim somehow called an ambulance and reached the hospital, told the doctors about the incident. On receiving the information, the police reached the hospital and a case was registered against the accused. The victim is being treated at the district hospital.
According to the information, the youth was beaten up near the culvert on Phula Devi Marg near Sarani Darwaza in Chhatarpur city at 8 pm on Tuesday night. Its video came out on Wednesday. It is seen in the video that four youths are beating a youth by holding him. Then they remove his clothes by showing a gun. The accused are also seen burning him with cigarettes. All the youths are seen kicking and punching him and beating him with a belt. Chhatarpur police has arrested Deva, Lucky and Annu along with weapons on the charge of making a video of the assault.
As soon as the video surfaced, Chhatarpur police formed a joint team and started searching for the accused involved in the video. Based on the statement of the victim, the police station Kotwali has registered a crime under sections of attempt to murder, robbery, kidnapping, and IT Act along with SC-ST Act.
In a conversation with The Mooknayak, Kotwali police station in-charge Arvind Kujur said that we have arrested all the three accused. The accused wanted to create terror in the area, with this intention they committed this incident. Among the accused, Annu alias Anirudh Ghoshi, Deva alias Devendra Singh, resident of Chhatarpur and a 17-year-old minor have been arrested.
Chhatarpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Agam Jain told The Muknayak representative, “The accused are of criminal nature. Criminal cases like assault and intimidation have been registered against them in the past as well. Cases of attempt to murder, possession of illegal weapons, assault and intimidation have been registered against the other two accused except the minor. The police have arrested the accused. Further action is being taken.
Action after the video went viral
After the video with the Dalit youth went viral on social media, there was a stir in the police department. Taking action, the police first arrested 2 accused and then another absconding accused. Chhatarpur SP Agam Jain said, “The case has been registered on the basis of the information given by the complainant youth and the viral video. All the accused have been arrested, the police is very strict about the matter, no one will be spared.
