Lucknow: Youth dies due to police beating, protest by blocking the road, Mayawati said action should be taken against the police personnel

In the case of the death of the youth in Vikasnagar Sector-8, the family members and the local people burst out in anger on the police on Saturday. Alleging that the youth died due to police beating, many people and family members reached near Khurramnagar intersection and started protesting by blocking the road. On receiving the information, the force of many police stations, ADCP and ACP reached the spot. They are trying to pacify the family by explaining.

In fact, on Friday night, PRV number 4830 reached Vikas Nagar Sector-8 on the information of gambling. 24-year-old Aman Gautam and his friend Sonu, who were near the park, were picked up. Aman died after some time. The family members had accused the police of beating them to death. A complaint was also given. On Saturday, the police sent the body for post-mortem. Here, family members and hundreds of local people gathered at Khurramnagar crossing at 4 pm on Saturday.

They blocked the road and started protesting by shouting slogans against the police. Family members said that Aman never gambled. Police could not catch those who gambled. Aman was standing outside the house with his friend when police took him away. He was beaten to death. Aman is survived by his wife Roshni and a three-year-old daughter. The protest is still going on. Family members say that action should be taken against all the policemen involved in the incident.

National President of Bahujan Samaj Party and former Chief Minister Mayawati has demanded action against the policemen responsible for the death of the Dalit youth in the capital. In her statement issued on Saturday, she said that the incident of the death of a Dalit youth who had gone for a walk in Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Park located in Mohalla Ganjraha Purva of Lucknow due to brutal beating by the police yesterday evening is sad. There is anger among the people about this. The government should take strict action against the guilty policemen and also provide full help to the victim’s family.
