Lucknow News: Life imprisonment to the accused of kidnapping and raping a Dalit girl

Shravasti. A Dalit girl resident of a village in Malhipur police station area was raped by a youth from the same village four years ago. Additional Sessions Judge Anukul POCSO pronounced his verdict in this case on Tuesday. The court has also imposed life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 45,000 on the accused.

According to the sequence of events, on January 15, 2020, a Scheduled Caste Pasi resident of Malhipur police station area had given a complaint letter to the local police station. It was alleged that on January 15, at around four in the morning, Jailu, a resident of Majra Mohammadpur of village Parsa Deharia of the police station area, lured and took away his 17-year-old daughter. Paddan and his wife of the same village also assisted in this. He took her to Mumbai on the pretext of marriage and raped her by renting a room.

In the case, Additional Sessions Judge Anukul POCSO Nirdosh Kumar has sentenced the accused Jailu to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 45,000. The court has ordered to give the fine amount to the victim. The accused has been taken to Bahraich District Jail in police custody.
