Live-in partner held for transgender’s murder

Visakhapatnam: Two days after the discovery of chopped human parts wrapped in a cloth near Bayyavaram locality, the Anakapalle district police have cracked the sensational murder case by arresting a 23-year-old youngster identified as B Durgaprasad alias Bunny, a delivery boy and a native of West Godavari district. Though the police suspected that the deceased was a woman initially, they later established the identity of the deceased as Deepu alias Dileep Kumar (35), a transgender. Anakapalle SP Tuhin Sinha said that the accused was in a living relationship with Deepu for the past four years. However, Bunny suspected Deepu’s character and he intended for a second marriage, and also for Deepu’s gold jewellery.
The police recovered the mobile phones of the victim and the accused and victim’s jewellery. The members of the transgender community demanded the police to severely punish the accused Bunny.
