The stage is set for Modi 3.0 to be a reality soon with National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Parliamentary Party leader Narendra Modi set to take oath of office as the Prime Minister for the third consecutive time on June 9.
The NDA has prepared a list of distinguished guests that are going to attend Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony in Delhi, with several ‘special guests’ also likely to grace the occasion.
As per sources, some of the very special guests likely to attend the oath-taking ceremony include labourers who worked at the Central Vista project, staff members who have worked with the railways for the Vande Bharat project as well as the metro train projects, members from the transgender community, sanitation workers who worked with the public health department, beneficiaries of various government schemes and the Viksit Bharat Ambassadors among others.
Meanwhile, several heads of state from India’s neighbouring countries will also be in attendance as VVIP guests. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck are among the foreign leaders who will attend the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi. Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth is also likely to be invited.
Also, Maldives President Mohammad Muizzu was among the foreign leaders invited for the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi.
If agreed, this will be the Maldives President’s first visit to India. Muizzu and PM Modi met earlier at the UN’s Climate Change Conference, COP28 in Dubai.
The NDA won 293 seats, going past the majority mark of 272 in the 543-member Lok Sabha. The Opposition INDIA bloc, defying exit poll predictions, secured 234 seats.
The BJP alone won 240 seats, the first time in ten years that the party fell short of its majority after winning 282 and 303 seats in 2014 and 2019, respectively.
After the results were declared on June 4-5, the BJP leadership swiftly moved ahead with the government formation to end any sense of uncertainty.
Senior BJP leaders, including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and Nadda, have also been holding deliberations with allies to work out an amicable formula for their share of representation in the new government, which will critically depend on them for survival.
