Kodagu: Denied house on rent, transgender writes letter to DC requesting mercy killing
Kodagu: A transgender from Karnataka’s Kodagu wrote a letter to the DC and requested mercy killing as several owners refused to rent her a house. As per reports, she has been struggling for a long time to find a shelter for herself, but due to her gender, no one was ready to give their house for rent. She said that she does not want a free house but will pay rent, still, no one was ready to give their property for rent to her.

The transgender shared a video in which she shares her agony. The transgender was identified as Rihanna, a resident of Kodagu’s Madikeri. In the video, Rihana said, “I am a transgender, I am making this video so that the people understand me. I have been trying to get a rented house for quite some time now but no one is renting out their place because I am a transgender. I am forced to live in a lodge by paying a hefty price.
She also said that she makes her living by begging and she is struggling to make ends meet. Rihanna said in the video, “I make a living by begging and I’m struggling to make ends meet. I have approached Kodagu DC several times to help me out but there has been no positive response. Hence I have requested for mercy killing as I have no other option left.”
