Jaunpur News: Case of Dalit harassment registered against four including assault
Kerakat. A dispute broke out in a wedding ceremony in village Belav of Kotwali area. On the complaint of the victim’s uncle, the police have registered a case of Dalit harassment including assault, threat to kill against four people and is investigating the matter.

Mahindra resident, uncle of the victim Ashwani, has given a complaint to the police accusing four youths that his nephew Ashwani had gone to Parmanandpur for a wedding ceremony. There, some youths beat him with sticks using casteist words over a fan. On the basis of the complaint, the police have registered a case against Shivam resident Parmanandpur, Siddharth resident Surhurpur, Saurabh resident Belav and Deepak resident Atraura under Dalit harassment and other sections and are investigating. In-charge Inspector Kerakat Dilip Kumar Singh said that after investigation on the basis of the complaint, a case has been registered.
