India’s first Transgender Model: My name is ‘Naaz’ but my parents were not proud of me at all, says Naaz. India’s first transgender model Naaz Joshi who has come a long way in her life. Naaz was born a boy in Delhi.

Over time, the girl inside Naaz started appearing outside, which her parents did not like and they sent Naaz away from them. Naaz’s parents sent her away to a relative where she was raped at the age of just 11.

When her eyes opened in the hospital the ‘guru ma’ of transgenders took Naaz with her. After this tragic incident, Naaz begged on the streets, worked in the bar, and after that, she appeared for the NIFT exam and eventually topped the same with her hard work.
During her NIFT studies, he also received the Best Designer Award there. But the taunts of the people did not leave them, when All this was not tolerated by Naaz, she left her job and started working as a sex worker in a gay massage parlour.

In 2011, a man was making a documentary on transgenders and asked Naaz to have sexual relations with the customer with a hidden camera. Naaz did the same and got the sex change operation done with the money she received.
In the year 2013, After becoming a complete girl, Naaz became the Rajasthan Designer Fashion Festival ‘showstopper’. Then later in 2015, she became the first transwoman who was on a magazine cover. After that, in 2022 she went to Dubai and there she Won Miss Universe Diversity and made India proud. “It is not our fault to be born transgender, it is all called nature”, says Naaz.
