How can Congress compete with PM Modi? When there are no legislative party leaders and state units in many states
Congress Party News: The country’s main opposition party Congress is constantly brainstorming about the necessary changes in the organization. However, till now the party has not been able to implement the big decisions that have been pending for a long time. In such a situation, questions are being raised that how will the oldest party of the country compete with PM Modi, when there are no legislative party leaders and state units in many states.

- Why is Congress unable to make necessary changes in the organization?
- In many states, legislative party leaders have not been elected.
- In many states, there are no state units, the election of the district president is pending.
New Delhi: A big problem of Congress, which is struggling with the weakness of the organization, is the long delay in changes and decisions related to the organization. At the same time, policy paralysis or policy inaction or delay has also become a permanent sentiment of Congress for the last two decades. Due to this, even after several months, the leaders of the Congress Legislative Party have not been elected in the states. While there are no state units in many states, the election of the district president has not been held for more than a decade in many states. However, in many places, due to factionalism among the leaders at the state level, appointments are not being made in the states, and at times it is also being seen due to the indifference of the national leadership.
Many decisions are still pending
It is worth mentioning that in the Chintan Shivir held in Udaipur, in view of the shrinking influence of the Congress in the country, it was decided that work will be done to strengthen the party from booth level to division level to increase its ground hold. But when the state unit or district unit and district president are not being decided for months or in many cases even for years. In such a situation, how can the ground hold on the organization be strengthened. In such a situation, it will be important to see whether the Congress, which is going to the new building from January 15, will come out of its old inertia?
Haryana
Due to internal factionalism and tussle, the Congress lost the winning game in Haryana. But the party did not learn any lesson from that either. More than two months have passed since the Haryana Assembly results were declared, but the party has still not been able to decide the leader of the legislative party there. The shadow of the tussle that was going on earlier regarding the CM post is also visible on the legislative party. It is being said that due to this reason the leader of the legislative party is not being decided yet.
When will the district presidents be appointed
Former CM Bhupendra Singh Hooda is believed to have the biggest claim on this post, but there is a discussion that the high command has not yet decided on his name. Apart from this, the district president has not been appointed in the state for more than 13 years. However, in the meantime two assembly and two Lok Sabha elections have passed and at least four state presidents have changed, but the state leadership has not been able to get the district presidents appointed.
Phool Chand Mulana, Ashok Tanwar, Kumari Selja and even the current Udaybhan spent a lot of time on the state leadership, but even in this time all these big leaders could not make a district president. Like Haryana, in Maharashtra too, due to big faces, the matter of selection of the leader of the legislative party in the state is pending. The party has not been able to take a decision on this.
There is no state unit in Odisha, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal
On one hand, the party does not have a leader of the legislative party in many states, while in many states there is no state unit. If there is a state president somewhere, the state unit is dissolved. Among these is an important state like Bihar, where elections are to be held at the end of this year. Akhilesh Pratap Singh is the state president, but the state unit does not exist yet. Similarly, Jeetu Patwari is handling the command in Madhya Pradesh, but there is no state unit there either.
After the crushing defeat in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, the state unit of Odisha was also dissolved, but no decision has been taken on it yet. The situation is similar in Himachal Pradesh, where there is a Congress government, but there too the state unit is to be formed.
Changes have to happen at the national level
Along with the states, changes have to happen at the national level as well, which has been in discussion for more than a year. Among these, the biggest discussion is about the change in the post of organization general secretary. There has to be a change in the post of organization general secretary for a long time. Similarly, it is being said that Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi will also get responsibility. After resigning from the post of UP in-charge, she does not have any charge yet. On the other hand, there is talk that Ashok Gehlot and Bhupendra Singh Hooda may get responsibility at the national level.
