- Bhupendra Singh Hooda and Kumari Shailja were discussed again
New Delhi: It has been two days since the results of Haryana came out but even now Congress is not able to believe that it has lost. The party has suffered a big setback due to the results of Haryana. Deliberation has also started on the reasons for the defeat. Amidst all this, there is still a lot of discussion about those two names which were being discussed before and during the elections. Now something has happened that even after the elections, the names of Bhupendra Singh Hooda and Kumari Shailaja are being discussed. On Thursday, a review meeting was held at the residence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in which the reasons for the defeat in Haryana were explored. Both Bhupendra Singh Hooda and Kumari Shailaja were not present in this meeting.
These faces were not seen in the meeting
Questions also started arising in political circles that the two leaders who were at the center of the entire election and whose names were discussed the most were not seen in the meeting. Both Kumari Shailaja and Bhupendra Singh Hooda were not in the meeting. When both the leaders did not reach the meeting, the question arose whether they were not invited or both these leaders themselves stayed away from this meeting. Sources say that Rahul Gandhi is angry after the results and he says that the leaders put themselves above the party’s interest.
Those who were called came
After the Haryana election meeting, Congress leader Ajay Maken came to talk to the media. He presented his point but the same question came in front of him which was much discussed. Questions were asked about the non-participation of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda and Congress General Secretary Kumari Selja in the meeting. In response to this question, Ajay Maken said that all those who were invited had come.
Is Rahul Gandhi angry?
However, there was also a discussion that Bhupendra Singh Hooda was invited to this meeting, while the names of Kumari Selja and Randeep Surjewala were not in the list. Now in such a situation it is not clear whether Hooda himself did not come or he got a hint not to come to the meeting. Sources say that even though Rahul Gandhi did not take the name of Hooda or Kumari Selja in the meeting that took place, he is said to be angry. Sources also say that he said in the meeting that the personal interests of the leaders were above everything else in Haryana.
Review of Haryana results
After the meeting, Ajay Maken told reporters that the election results of Haryana were reviewed in this meeting. You people (media) must also agree that the results were unexpected. There was a huge difference between the exit polls and the actual results. What could be the different reasons was discussed. He said that information about the further steps would be given later. Congress had apprised the Election Commission on Wednesday about the complaints related to the results of the Haryana Assembly elections and demanded an investigation into them. A delegation of senior leaders of the main opposition party had also urged the Commission to seal and keep safe those Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) on which questions have been raised till the investigation is completed.
Who attended the meeting
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Thursday reviewed the reasons for the party’s defeat in the Haryana Assembly elections with senior observers and in-charge. Congress organization general secretary KC Venugopal, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and treasurer Ajay Maken and two other leaders of the committee were present in this review meeting held at Kharge’s residence 10 Rajaji Marg. In-charge Deepak Babaria joined through video conferencing as he has been unwell for the last few weeks.
