High voltage politics: Amit Shah and Rahul Gandhi to rub shoulders today

Jamshedpur: Union home minister Amit Shah and leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi will be addressing Steel City residents and try to win their votes, on Saturday.
Shah is scheduled to address a public gathering at Judi, located in the southern periphery of the city within Potka assembly constituency, to seek support for BJP candidate Meera Munda while Gandhi will address at Mahatma Gandhi Maidan in Mango, supporting Congress candidates Banna Gupta from Jamshedpur (West) and Ajoy Kumar from Jamshedpur (East).
Shah will also conduct a road show supporting BJP and NDA alliance candidates contesting from the four urban assembly constituencies of Jamshedpur. According to BJP Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu, the road show will commence at Jubilee park in Sakchi and conclude at Bhalubasa Chowk in Jamshedpur (East) constituency.
The 3km procession will include leaders from various social and religious organisations alongside party workers, who plan to welcome Shah at designated gates along the route.
“The road show is intended to garner support for our party candidate Purnima Das Sahoo in Jamshedpur (East) and JD (U) nominee Saryu Roy besides other candidates of the alliance,” said BJP district committee vice president Anil Modi.
Simultaneously in the events being hosted by Congress, Rahul Gandhi will garner votes for other INDIA bloc candidates contesting from the district’s four constituencies . Arriving at Sonari aerodrome, Rahul will proceed to Gandhi Maidan by road.
“All representatives of INDIA bloc and party workers of the Congress will attend the rally; besides, a large crowd is expected to come to hear Rahul Gandhi’s speech,” said state Congress in-charge, Ghulam Ahmed Mir. Both parties have established large committees and assigned their members to ensure substantial crowd attendance.
