He changed sex for marriage. Now, ‘husband’ dumps him
A 22-year man from UP’s Kaushambi district has filed a police complaint against his ‘friend’ accusing him of forcing him to undergo undergo sex change to solemnise their marriage and them abandoning him after couple of months. The police is probing the incident.
“After changing his gender through an operation, they started living as husband and wife. The accused promised the victim that he would never abandon him despite societal and family pressure,” SP (Kaushambi) Brijesh Kumar Srivastava told Times of India.
The victim said that said he fell in love with another man in 2016 and the accused forced him to undergo sex change operation and after that they solemnised their marriage at a temple about two years ago. The victim said that the accused abandoned him about 2-3 months ago and is not even taking his calls. The accused’s members are also threatening me, the accused said.
The victim also said that the sex change surgery came at cost of Rs 8 lakh and the accused and his family members also took Rs 6 lakh from him.
The victim has lodged a complaint against the ‘husband’, his father and uncle under Sections 377 (unnatural offences), 406 (criminal breach of trust), 504 (insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and Section 3 (2) (v) of the SC/ST Act with Kaushambhi police accusing them of assaulting him, snatching his money and making casteist remarks.
The police official said that the family members of the accused have accuses that the victim was a transgender and never underwent any sex change surgery. The victim, the family members said, could not provide hospital details of sex change operation.
