Gupta: Congress always had anti-dalit agenda
Panchkula: Haryana assembly speaker and BJP candidate from Panchkula constituency Gian Chand Gupta on Tuesday addressed a press conference to wish Prime Minister Narendra Modi a happy birthday. A blood donation event was also organised by Yuva Morcha to mark the occasion.
Gupta enumerated the works of the BJP government. In the case of MP Kumari Selja, he attacked Congress, saying that Congress has always had an anti-dalit agenda. Gupta also informed about the chief minister’s Jan Ashirwad rally to be held in Barwala Mandal, Panchkula, on September 21.
Gupta said there is anxiety increasing among Congress leaders due to the development works of the BJP. “Frustrated Congress leaders are not seeing the development of Haryana, they are trying to mislead people by spreading lies,” he said.
Taking on Congress candidate Chander Mohan, Gupta said Chander Mohan himself had been the deputy CM and was an elected representative for 18 years, “then why did he not made Panchkula Paris city which he promised?” Gupta said that the nature of Congress leaders is to get votes by lying. Gupta said that now Haryana has changed, and the people of Haryana are aware. This time too, the public will give a befitting reply to the Congress and will form BJP’s government in Haryana for the third time, he said.
“We started a mass public outreach campaign two days ago. Out of 221 booths, we had door to door contact with 180 booths. Our contact campaign is going on at a fast pace,” he said.
He said that an atmosphere of BJP is prevailing at present, and every person is discussing the development works of the party everywhere, due to which the heartbeats of the Congress candidates have increased, and they have started feeling certain about their defeat, hence lies are being spread out of panic.
Gupta said the visits of Union ministers are continuing in Haryana and that a letter has been written to the top leadership for the visit of Union home minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath to Panchkula.
Gupta said during his two tenures, the condition and direction of Panchkula has changed. “Our government has done development works worth Rs 5,000 crore in Panchkula,” he said.
Gupta said that construction of roads, ITI, polytechnic, skill centre, Government Sanskrit College and 500-bed hospital, among other development works, were done.
He said remarks made on MP Kumari Selja are condemnable. He said that Congress has always had an anti-dalit face. “Because the same thing happened with Ashok Tanwar while he was in Congress,” he said.
