New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi’s helicopter, who had arrived to campaign in Jharkhand, was stopped for a few hours. Actually, PM Modi had reached Jamui in Bihar to participate in the program organized on the 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda. His plane landed at Deoghar airport and after that he reached Jamui by helicopter. Deoghar was declared a no-fly zone due to PM’s visit. In such a situation, Congress got furious over the delay in getting permission for Rahul to fly. Earlier, Shiv Sena (UTC) and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha have also accused BJP of deliberately obstructing the election campaign.
‘Does only PM have the right?’
Jharkhand minister and Congress leader Deepika Pandey Singh expressed strong displeasure over the delay in getting permission for Rahul Gandhi’s helicopter from Air Traffic Control (ATC). The Congress leader raised the question whether the right to campaign freely in this country is reserved only for the Prime Minister. He said that the country’s top opposition leader was made to wait in the helicopter for more than an hour. He was not allowed to go.
‘Our bank accounts have been frozen, now campaigning…’
Deepika Pandey said, I do not understand why BJP is doing this. They froze our bank accounts. Created obstacles for us in the Lok Sabha and now are obstructing our campaign efforts to prevent us from contesting elections on equal footing. When he was asked why BJP would allegedly take such action, he said that only BJP can answer this.
Why was Rahul’s helicopter stopped?
Due to the declaration of Deoghar as a no-fly zone for the PM’s visit, the flights of helicopters of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s star campaigner Kalpana Soren, who reached Jharkhand for election campaign on Friday, have also been stopped. Rahul Gandhi had come to address an election rally in Meharma in Godda district. After the rally, when he boarded the helicopter for return, it was not given permission to fly. His helicopter remained parked in Meharma for a long time. Congress workers created a ruckus over this.
The investigation of Uddhav Thackeray’s helicopter has been done wrong to him. The Election Commission will have to answer for the dishonesty it is doing. If Uddhav Thackeray’s helicopter should be investigated, then PM Modi’s helicopter should also be investigated. The helicopters of Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis should also be investigated. The helicopters of all leaders should be investigated.
JMM also talked about level playing field
Earlier, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha had accused the Election Commission, BJP and the Central Government of disrupting the party’s election campaign. Party’s Central General Secretary and spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said that efforts are being made to stop the helicopters of our leaders Hemant Soren and Kalpana Soren from flying. This is happening at the behest of BJP and the Center. He said that the Election Commission talks about ‘level playing field’ for all parties, but the exact opposite is happening in Jharkhand. Bhattacharya alleged that Kalpana Soren’s helicopter was stopped on Monday.
Uddhav Thackeray also made allegations
Earlier, the matter of checking the helicopter and bag of former Chief Minister and Shiv Sena (UBT) President Uddhav Thackeray in Maharashtra had also come up. Shiv Sena (UBT) had raised questions on the Election Commission. Actually, Shiv Sena (UBT) President Uddhav Thackeray was checked by the employees of the Election Commission. During this, as soon as Uddhav Thackeray’s helicopter landed in Osmanabad’s Ausa assembly constituency, the Election Commission team reached there. They checked it. Earlier on Monday, Thackeray’s bag was checked in Yavatmal district.
Helicopters of these leaders have been checked
Recently, Home Minister Amit Shah’s helicopter was checked in Hingoli, Maharashtra. Election Commission officials checked his helicopter and also opened and checked the luggage kept in it. Home Minister Amit Shah himself gave this information through social media platform X. Earlier, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari’s helicopter was also checked in Latur. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ bag was checked at the airport. Nationalist Congress Party chief Ajit Pawar’s helicopter was also checked. Voting will be held on November 20 for a total of 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra and the results will be announced on November 23.
