New Delhi:, A case of untouchability has come to light from a village in Jhansi. Here barbers have been accused of not cutting the hair of Dalit people. Due to this, Dalits have to travel 20 to 30 kilometers to get their hair cut. Caste system and untouchability are still at their peak in the village. Due to this, people of Dalit caste have to take shelter in other areas for shaving and hair cutting.
Untouchability continues in the village even today
This entire matter is of Bijna village of Tahrauli tehsil of Jhansi. Residents of Bijna village reached Uldan police station and gave a complaint letter. He told that untouchability is still prevalent in the village. Due to this, people of the barber community do not cut his hair. To get his hair cut, he has to go to the nearby town several kilometers away from the village. Even after many years of independence, the wall of untouchability is standing against the people of Dalit caste. People of Dalit caste have demanded justice from the authorities, however the police is busy investigating the matter. Interrogation of many people is going on.
They do not get the opportunity to enter the temple
Similarly, in a village in Madhya Pradesh, barbers do not cut the hair of Dalits. They do not get the opportunity to enter the temple. Here, people of Scheduled Caste category are treated like untouchables. This case is of Kodiya village, located about 30 kilometers away from Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. A Valmiki family of the village is considered untouchable for the upper caste people. Kodiya village is situated in Huzur assembly constituency and Phanda block of Bhopal district. The population here is around 2500. But even after 76 years of independence, this kind of behaviour towards Dalits is still prevalent here.
