Due to fear of the bullies, the family of landless Dalit Maheshwar Tanti of Paharpur has left their home and is wandering from door to door for justice. After the assault, the bullies are constantly threatening the victim family not to file a case and that they will kill them. Due to fear of the bullies, the victim and his family are not going home. On the fifth day of the incident, the victim Maheshwar Tanti has filed a case against half a dozen accused by submitting an application in SC/ST police station Navgachiya. The Dalit landless person was working as a labourer in Delhi for 20 years with his wife and three sons. His elderly parents live at home.

On June 14, at around 9 am, the neighbours, Dinesh Sharma, Bhuvaneshwar Sharma, Amarjeet Sharma, Kaushal Sharma, Rishi Sharma, Rajesh Sharma, built a hut on his private land in front of his house with the intention of occupying the land, which Maheshwar Tanti opposed. The bullies brutally beat up Maheshwar Tanti and his family with sticks and bricks. In this incident of assault, the victim’s father Vishnudev Tanti and his elderly mother Lakho Devi were seriously injured. Other family members suffered minor injuries. The bullies attacked the mother and son on their heads and left them half dead.

After treatment, on June 19, the victim reached Navgachiya SC/ST police station and submitted an application to register a case against half a dozen accused. Even after 10 days of submitting the application, the SC/ST police station did not register a case. Bhawanipur police station never takes action against these bullies. The video of the fight that took place on June 14 is preserved as evidence. In this regard, Navgachiya SC/ST SHO Mahesh Lal Ram said that the application has not been received. Action will be taken after investigation after receiving the application.
