Direct question to Dalit ministers in BJP meeting in Lucknow- Why did you not get votes from your community?
Manish Srivastava, Lucknow: National Organization General Secretary BL Santosh, who came to do a ground survey of BJP’s seats decreasing in the Lok Sabha elections, asked questions to Dalit ministers and BJP Scheduled Front on Sunday. He directly asked why did the votes of your community decrease? What was the reason and how can it be corrected now? Santosh also talked to the people of social media and media department and also gave them tips to give aggressive answers to every confusion spread by the opposition. There are 7 Dalit ministers in the government in UP. The ground survey of the Lok Sabha has revealed that when the opposition spread the narrative of changing the constitution and ending reservation, no one could explain it to the voters even in their own community.

On many Lok Sabha seats, Yadavs and Dalits came together and shifted towards SP. Due to this, votes were not received even on reserved seats. 10 years ago, BJP had won all the 17 reserved seats of Lok Sabha in UP. In 2019, only 14 seats remained with BJP. In this Lok Sabha election, BJP got 8 seats. SP got 7, Congress got 1 and Azad Samaj Party’s Chandrashekhar also won the election from Nagina. Santosh asked why did this happen? Modi government’s schemes are for Dalits. Why is BJP’s message not reaching them?
Dalit youth angry over outsourcing and lack of employment
Sources say that BJP State Scheduled Front officials and Dalit ministers put forth their views in front of Santosh. Some leaders said that most government departments are now recruiting through outsourcing. There is no reservation in these, so Scheduled Caste people are getting less opportunities. This increased resentment among Dalit and backward class youth. A leader suggested that if separate reservation is given for Dalits in this too, then Dalits will join BJP again.
A demand for giving special reservation to Dalit women was also raised in the meeting. The opposition spread the narrative of changing the constitution and ending reservation from village to village, due to which this resentment increased further. BJP workers had no answer to this. A leader of the Scheduled Front said that some workers work for the party at their own expense and when no one listens to them, they got angry and sat at home, they need to be persuaded.
Leaders and ministers will go to the houses of Dalits
It has been decided in the meeting that now the dialogue among Dalits will be increased. Soon the ministers and leaders of the Scheduled Front will go to the houses of Dalits. Small conferences will be organized in every division. The participation of Dalits will be increased in all the campaigns. A complete plan is being prepared for this.
Need to come out of the comfort zone
Santosh also spoke to the state spokespersons, in-charge, co-in-charge of the party and said that a lot has changed between 2014 and 2024. Therefore, the media team should also come out of the comfort zone and work. He said that now the opposition spreads its propaganda. There is a need to give a correct, accurate and aggressive answer to this. We should convey the right information to the people at the right time. For this, the BJP media cell should form its own research team, which can collect information. On this occasion, a spokesperson who joined BJP from BSP said that we need to do some separate work for Dalits, on this Santosh said that Modi-Yogi government has done a lot of work, but our team is not able to reach it to the voters. The opposition has taken YouTubers and social media influencers with them through NGOs, so we should also communicate with them.
Why such a big team and less retweets?
Santosh also gave tips to BJP’s social media team. He told them that you have such a big team. By training the team up to the Mandal level in the entire state, the opposition’s point should reach every house. He was told that the social media has a team of 25-30 thousand in the entire state, but the tweets of the state president and the organization general secretary are retweeted less, on this Santosh asked to run an aggressive campaign.
