Allegations and counter-allegations started again between BJP and AAP regarding MCD mayor election

MCD Mayor News: Delhi Municipal Corporation has not been able to get a mayor from Scheduled Caste till now. Regarding this, a round of continuous allegations and counter-allegations has started again between Aam Aadmi Party and BJP. Recently, BJP had termed this situation as a situation arising due to CM Kejriwal’s refusal to resign and his stubbornness to run the government from jail and had demanded LG’s intervention in this matter and help in getting a new mayor. At the same time, AAP has blamed BJP for this and has demanded from the Lieutenant Governor to conduct the mayor election as soon as possible.

Aam Aadmi Party leader Kuldeep Kumar told BJP and LG that they should not take away the right of becoming the mayor of Delhi from the son of Dalit society. If they do not complete the process of mayor election and stop a Dalit from becoming the mayor of Delhi, then the Dalit society will teach BJP a lesson.

What does the DMC Act say?

He said that DMC Act 1957 says that in the first year, a woman will become the mayor of MCD, in the second year, a person from the general category and in the third year, a person from the Dalit community will become the mayor. Aam Aadmi Party had declared Mahesh Khichi from the Dalit community as its candidate for the post of mayor and his victory was also certain, but the anti-Dalit BJP did not allow the election to be held through the Lieutenant Governor.

Four months of the mayor were wasted

Kuldeep Kumar said that BJP has not only insulted the Dalits, but has also violated the DMC Act 1957, which gives the right to a person from the Dalit community to become the mayor for one year. He alleged that BJP and its Lieutenant Governor are snatching the rights of the Dalit community of Delhi.

‘BJP is an anti-Dalit party’

Kuldeep Kumar alleged that BJP earlier also talked about ending Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s constitution, which protects the rights of Dalits and gives them the right to live a life with dignity. He made serious allegations against BJP and said that the people of BJP hate the provisions made by Baba Saheb Ambedkar in the constitution for the benefit of Dalits. Aam Aadmi Party will not remain silent on this attitude of BJP. If no action is taken on this, then in future Dalit society and Aam Aadmi Party will take a big step.

BJP is hell-bent on snatching the rights of Dalits – AAP

AAP MLA Rohit Mehroliya said that BJP’s mentality has always been anti-Dalit. Ignoring the opportunity of representation given to Dalits and backward classes by the Constitution of the country and the DMC Act of MCD, the Mayor election scheduled for April 26 was postponed. Frustrated with the 18 years of misrule of BJP in MCD, the people of Delhi gave majority to Aam Aadmi Party. The Dalit community of Delhi had voted unanimously for Aam Aadmi Party. BJP is trying to snatch their rights.
